Dr. King is board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic
Surgery and has been chosen by his peers as one of the Best Doctors in America since 2009. Dr. King
cares for patients with a wide range of pediatric and adult musculoskeletal issues. His clinical emphases
include musculoskeletal tumors, bone and soft tissue sarcomas, limb salvage surgery, minimally invasive
approaches for metastatic bone disease, complex joint reconstruction and vascular anomalies of bone
and soft tissue.
Dr. King’s research interests include minimizing wound complications following sarcoma resection, identifying adequate margin status following sarcoma resections, minimally invasive techniques to manage acetabular and pelvic tumors, and the role of fibrosis and necrosis in predicting sarcoma oncologic outcomes. Additionally, Dr. King has been significantly involved in medical student, resident and fellow education at MCW. He was named the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery’s Outstanding Clinical Instructor of the Year in 2005-2006 and Outstanding Faculty Educator of the Year in 2006-2007 and most recently in 2015-2016.
Dr. King graduated with honors from the University of Iowa in 1992 and received his MD degree from that institution in 1996. From 1996-2001, Dr. King completed an internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Chicago; he served a fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology there from 2001-2002.
Dr. King has served as Chairman and Paul A. Jacobs, M.D. Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery at The Medical College of Wiscsonsin since 2016. He serves as the MSK Service Line Medical Director for Froedtert and MCW as well.
