Bonnie received her PhD in Cancer Biology from the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus in 2019. Her thesis work focused on improving response rates to immune checkpoint inhibitors (eg, anti-PD-1) using an immunocompetent orthotopic mouse model of non-small cell lung cancer. Bonnie transitioned from academia to the field of scientific communications by working as a freelance medical writer, then as a consultant, and later as a senior medical writer for a medical communications agency. Bonnie has experience developing an array of scientific publications and medical communications across therapeutic spaces, most notably in the fields of neuropsychiatry, cardiology, hematology, and oncology. She specializes in developing congress publications such as abstracts, oral and poster presentations, and preclinical and clinical trial manuscripts. Bonnie now synthesizes her scientific expertise in solid tumor microenvironments and tumor immunology from graduate school with her experience in publication planning and development in her current role at Agenus.
