CHRISTIAN Williams has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology as well as an MS in Psychology and a MA in Rehabilitation counseling. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies at Assumption University where she is also the Coordinator of the Concentration, Working with Children and Adolescents in Community Settings. Dr. Williams is a licensed and practicing psychotherapist (LMHC) who has 18 years of experience working with individuals, families, and children in the areas of trauma, resilience, grief, and substance abuse. She is particularly interested in the intersection between adversity, life roles and addiction, as well as the direct experiences of first responders. She has focused her research on the experience of adversity including the experience of addiction, peer and social supports, disenfranchised grief, self-efficacy, and posttraumatic growth.
