This workshop will discuss the various issues that prosecutors face in the selection of juries in complex cases involving the sexual abuse of a child. Topics such as child abuse dynamics, young witnesses, and lack of medical/physical evidence will be discussed. Participants will learn how to educate juries on these matters starting at the very beginning of a trial.
Identify possible issues in a case that prosecutors must address in voir dire.
Educate potential jurors about specific issues related to child sexual abuse cases.
Strategize the best way to address problems in a child sexual abuse trial before starting the voir dire process.
