Sherin Mathews was abandoned as a baby in India and later was adopted by Wesley and Sini Mathews and brought to the United States before she turned two. On October 7, 2017, three-year-old Sherin was reported missing by her father. Police were told that Sherin was put outside in the middle of the night as punishment and somehow disappeared. After two weeks of investigation by local, state, and federal law enforcement, her decomposed body was found in a culvert and her father was arrested for causing her death. Throughout the next twenty months, there were numerous twists and turns in the investigation and prosecution, all of which were reported by local, national, and international media. The first part of this presentation will focus on the investigation which ultimately led to the gruesome discovery of Sherin's body. The second part will focus on the prosecution that enabled justice to be served for Sherin. See this link for more information.
