This course will review the latest AUA guideline on recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) in the index female patient. The guidelines encompass recurrent UTI diagnosis, treatment, antibiotic and other methods of prophylaxis. There is a focus on antibiotic stewardship and best practices to avoid "collateral damage" from antibiotics. The evidence supporting the guidelines will be presented, as will a treatment algorithm which includes the most current and safe antibiotic regimens. The second part of the course will focus on case presentations and management of a wide variety of scenarios. The audience will be encouraged to bring their own cased for discussion.
