Aaron A. Gurayah (MD) is currently a second year Urology resident at NYP-Weill Cornell Medicine. He obtained a degree in Molecular Biology and a minor in Global Health & Health Policy at Princeton University and a medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. During his undergraduate studies, he conducted his senior thesis research on assessing DNA methylation as a link in the association between neighborhood air pollution and cognitive deficits in children.
After graduating, Aaron became a research fellow at the National Human Genomics Research Institute (NHGRI) at the National Institutes of Health. During this fellowship, he interviewed parent-caregivers of children with inherited metabolic disorders and investigated the accessibility of healthcare and social support resources for families affected by these rare metabolic conditions.
At the University of Miller School of Medicine, Aaron has become highly involved with the Desai Sethi Urology Institute, conducting research in urologic oncology, andrology and Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. He continues to pursue his interests in health services research at Weill Cornell Medicine.
