Associate professor and consultant of urology
Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mahmoud Omar is an accomplished Urology Consultant and Associate Professor at Menoufia University, Egypt. With over two decades of clinical and academic experience, Dr. Omar specializes in endourology, including laser and bipolar enucleation of the prostate, TURP, TURBT, ERBT, PCNL, and ureteroscopy, in addition to all non-laparoscopic open urological surgeries. He currently serves as Urology Consultant at both Menoufia University Hospitals and Al Araby International Hospital.
Dr. Omar holds a Ph.D. in Urology and completed prestigious fellowships at Mansoura Urology & Nephrology Center and the Cleveland Clinic's Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute in the U.S., where he conducted extensive research in stone disease and minimally invasive techniques. His scholarly contributions include over 30 peer-reviewed publications, several international awards, travel grants from the SIU and AUA, and the SIU Best Poster Award.
As a thought leader in the field, Dr. Omar is an executive board member of the Endourology Academy and serves as Secretary of the Endourology Section of the Egyptian Urological Association. He has represented Egypt at numerous global urological conferences such as SIU, AUA, EUA, and ICS. He also contributes to national guideline development and hands-on workshops, including AEEP courses at the Endourology Academy.
A passionate educator and researcher, Dr. Omar was the Executive Editor of Menoufia Medical Journal and is known for pioneering video-based surgical education through his active YouTube and Twitter platforms. His work is widely cited, with an H-index of 14, reflecting his impact in the academic and clinical realms of urology.
