Every road and fork we take shapes our outlook, philosophy, and appreciation for that which lies ahead. I have regularly served or represented the WSAUA in various positions over the past 15 years. My opportunity to serve the AUA started with my entry onto the WSAUA Board (2007-2009), subsequently I represented the WS in the AUA Leadership Program (2011-2012). Both experiences provided opportunities to build relationships that I continue to value today. Since then, I chaired both the AUA Ultrasound Faculty and the UDTIC (2016-2018). These positions led to work with the AUA Education Committee, which in turn provided me the opportunity to pursue my passion for urologic education and research.
More recently, I had the distinct honor of serving as the Secretary for the Western Section (2016-2020), one of the most fulfilling and rewarding positions I have enjoyed, as it presented an opportunity to further develop the educational directive for the members of the Western Section. As Secretary, I was able to meet the broad spectrum of the Western Section membership, and during my tenure, the Program Committee was steadfast in following the stated WSAUA mission of meeting the “educational needs and expectations of our members”.
In November 2022, I will completed my tenure as President of the WSAUA. I am grateful for having had the privilege to serve and represent the interests of the WS.
I am grateful to be the WS AUA BOD Representative: this position represents an enormous responsibility. I recognize that this position will allow me to contribute to the AUA beyond my Section, and I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to and participate in many of the strategic decisions of the AUA.
