Dr. John Wei completed his Urology residency training at NYH Cornell Weill Medical Center (1997) followed by Health Services Research training in the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program (1999). He is a practicing surgeon and Professor of Urology at the University of Michigan. His General Urology practice focuses on male voiding problems (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia – BPH/LUTS) and prostate cancer early detection. Administratively, he is the Division Head for the Andrology, General and Community Urology Division in the Department of Urology at the University of Michigan. His areas of active research are on biomarker validations, and evaluation of BPH therapies.
