Since graduating from Midwestern University in Downer’s Grove, Illinois, Brooke has worked in surgical subspecialties including colo-rectal and vascular surgery. For the past 11 years, she has been working in Urology. She enjoys the autonomy and diversity she is given through the UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Department of Urology. She sees inpatient consults, outpatient evaluation of benign and malignant conditions, and first assists on robotic surgery. She has given lectures to the PA school affiliated with her institution as well as at state and national conferences. She has published in JAAPA and was a contributor to a Physician Assistant Clinics in Urology Journal. She is the education committee chair and the treasurer for the Urology Association of Physician Assistants (UAPA) and is also involved with the AUA APP Education Committee. She is passionate about mentoring students and peers and is the founder and former chairperson for a hospital wide mentorship program for advanced practice providers.
