Steven J. Hudak, M.D. is a Professor of Urology, Urology Residency Program Director, and GURS Fellowship Program Director at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dr. Hudak graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa before obtaining his M.D. degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa. He completed Urology residency training at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium followed by a fellowship in Urologic Trauma, Reconstruction, and Prosthetics at UT Southwestern. He subsequently returned to San Antonio, where he completed a 15-year active duty military career, ultimately achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In 2019, Dr. Hudak returned to Dallas and joined the Urology faculty at UT Southwestern where he has focused his clinical work and research endeavors on urologic trauma, prosthetics, and reconstructive surgery. He assumed the role of Urology Residency Program Director in 2021 and GURS Fellowship Program Director in 2023. He has served on multiple organizations within the American Urological Association, including the AUA Young Urologists Committee (past chair), the AUA Urotrauma Clinical Guidelines Panel, the AUA Urotrauma Legislative Task Force, and the AUA Core Curriculum GU Trauma team. In 2023, Dr. Hudak was appointed by UTSW to the Distinguished Chair in Urology for Urologic Reconstruction, in Honor of Allen F. Morey, M.D.
