Shannon has known since she was an undergraduate that she wanted to pursue a career in gender-affirming surgery. She is very grateful to have had the support of the faculty and residents of the Smith Institute for Urology in allowing her to pursue her career interest in transgender medicine, and is excited to be nearing the end of her fellowship in Gender-Affirming Genital Surgery and Reconstructive Urology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, where she will be staying on as faculty.
