Rooftop landscapes hold the promise of an expanded urban landscape that focuses on human experience, access to nature, and the potential to increase habitat and biodiversity in the city. This session will focus on the rooftops of San Francisco and will visit Salesforce Park and the California Academy of Sciences.

Participants will come away with a detailed understanding of the challenges and opportunities of designing a rooftop park.
Participants will gain a broadened perspective of how green roofs can be performance landscapes and how to enhance biodiversity potential of green roofs.
Understand different contract-grow and pre-growing systems and contracts that were used in these projects
Gain insight into the potential of design competitions and projects to influence planning on wider scales in cities, and on the detail design and construction of these complex integrated projects.
