Heritage Program Manager/Tribal Relations Liaison
US Forest Service, Tahoe National Forest
Truckee, California
I am the Heritage Program Manager on the Tahoe National Forest. As required for all federal agencies, I review proposed undertakings for compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. This includes all aspects of tribal consultation/engagement. Other stakeholders on the Forest include the 1882 Foundation and recognition of Chinese occupied workcamps during construction of the Central Pacific Railroad. These workcamps consist of artifacts and building remains. They are vulnerable to environmental and anthropogenic impacts. I enjoy giving public presentations on local history including the tribes and diverse ethnic groups who worked and settled in the area.
