Dates & Times:

These are the dates and times for the main conference content. Committee meetings, state chapter gatherings, special interest group discussions, satellite sessions and some fun and fitness activities take place outside of these times. Please check the full schedule for more information. Pre-Conference Courses and Workshops take place Thursday, March 31, 2022 and are subject to an additional registration fee.

ASAM 53rd Annual Conference Registration

Full Conference Registration:

  • Three exciting plenary sessions and 60+ concurrent sessions*
  • Dynamic Poster Hall with 120+ posters and live presentations from the poster authors
  • Daily breakfast, lite-fare lunch, refreshment breaks and networking receptions
  • Robust Exhibit Hall with relevant and engaging company booths
  • Dedicated networking time to build connections with colleagues and new friends
*All content will be recorded and made available on-demand in the ASAM e-Learning Center within 2-4 weeks following the live event. All registrants will get access to this content until April 30, 2025. 

Single Day Conference Registration:

If you are unable to attend the full conference, you can select single day registration. This registration rate includes entrance to sessions, plenaries, and networking events on only the selected date. Single day registrants do not qualify for free access to 24/7 on-demand conference recordings in the ASAM e-Learning Center. Pre-Conference Courses and Workshops take place Thursday, March 31, 2022 and are subject to an additional registration fee.

  • Friday, April 1, 2022: Conference sessions, plenary sessions, poster session, continental breakfast, refreshment breaks, lite-fare lunch, exhibit hall access and the evening attendee reception.
  • Saturday, April 2, 2022: Conference sessions, plenary session, poster session, continental breakfast, lite-fare lunch, refreshment breaks and exhibit hall access.
  • Sunday, April 3, 2022: Conference sessions, continental breakfast and refreshment break.

Guest Registration:

Guest registration is only avialable for Full Conference registrants. A guest is defined as a spouse, significant other, friend or an adult child (18 or over) who is not in an industry-related occupation. Co-workers or associates in the industry may not use the guest registration category.

Guest registrations gain access to all ASAM events and activities, except for the Pre-Conference Course/ Workshops and the e-Learning Center.

Pre-Conference Course or Workshop Registration

Pre-Conference Course Options:

You may register for one pre-conference course or workshop. All pre-conference offerings take place on:

Pre-conference courses and workshops are subject to an additional registration fee which includes education sessions, continental breakfast, lite-fare lunch and refreshment breaks.


ASAM Motivational Interviewing Workshop

The ASAM Motivational Interviewing Workshop is an interactive and engaging workshop designed to introduce and expand participants' knowledge of utilizing Motivational Interviewing (MI) in an addiction treatment setting. MI is a goal-oriented, collaborative counseling style that evokes a person's own motivations for and commitment to change.


ASAM Fundamentals of Addiction Medicine Workshop

The ASAM Fundamentals of Addiction Medicine is an innovative, case-based, interactive workshop for providers who are new to seeing patients at risk or treating patients with addiction. Participants will be presented an overview of the basics of addiction medicine, which covers how to screen, diagnose, treat, and/or refer patients with addiction, many of whom have co-occuring medical and psychiatric comorbidities. 


ASAM Pain & Addiction: Common Threads Course XXIII

The ASAM Pain & Addiction: Common Threads Course is one of ASAM’s longest running and most popular courses. This course is designed to develop learners’ clinical skills and improve treatment of patients who fall somewhere in the gray area around pain and addiction. Participants will learn clinical best practices and new research developments affecting treatment and how to integrate these techniques into their own practices. This year’s course will utilize a dynamic mix of teaching methods including didactic presentations, complex patient cases, and debates between experts in the field.

Prior to the event, any cancellations are subject to a $150 cancellation fee. All cancellation requests must be made in writing and sent to refunds@ASAM.org.
