Description: Introduction The number of inspection procedures performed of flexible endoscopes keeps rising year by year, and increasing challenges in infection prevention. in technology bringing. Proper post-treatment, disinfection of endoscopes and accessories are critical to patient safety and successful treatment . The literature states that reprocessing endoscopes according to the manufacturer's reprocessing procedures and infection prevention guidelines poses a low risk of transmitting patient or environmental microorganisms, but any deviations in processing procedures can lead to microbial survival and increased infection risks. Objectives The positive rate of flexible endoscope detection and analysis in the operation room from September to November 2018 was 14%. The reason was we lacked of a standard operation process about flexible endoscope safety management and influenced the patient safety The project aims to reduce the positive rate of the culture of flexible endoscope in operating room the project by reviewing the number of flexible endoscopes and establishing a standard operating procedure for cleaning and managing environment of flexible endoscopes. Methods (1) Personnel: 1. Holding personnel education and training courses; 2. Cleaning by specialized trained personnel. 3. Develop a standard of process posters. (2) Environment: 1. Create storage spaces for flexible endoscopes, 2.Mmonitor temperature, and humidity continuously and recording daily. (3) operating procedures: 1. Entrust a unit with a washing machine to assist in washing, 2. Hold an educational training course for endoscopes (including washing machine operation demonstration and reprocessing procedures), 3. Hold a CIDEX-OPA education course. Results The infection control center regularly performs flexible endoscopy to cultivate microorganisms. The positive rate of flexible endoscope detection and analysis in the operating room in 2019 was 3.1%, and the positive rate of flexible endoscope detection and analysis in the operating room in 2020~2021 was 0%. Infection control center and endoscope management team went to the operating room investagted the operating room flexible endoscope cleaning and disinfection process in 2019, and found nine missing events. And the investigation events were zero event in 2020. Conclusion This project also invites infection specialists, Clinical laboratory scientists, and endoscopic technicians to participate in the discussion and strengthen the abilities to manage the cleaning process of flexible endoscopes in the operating room, to meet the responsibility to supervise the management process of standards of the flexible endoscope.
