Dr. Tucker is an assistant professor of maternal and child health (MCH). She won the Teaching Innovation Award in 2015 and 2016 for MHCH 713 "Research Methods in Maternal and Child Health". Her students describe her as "welcoming, clear, engaged, curious and helpful".
Dr. Tucker is passionate about conducting research on women's reproductive health, especially with the Latina community. She has over a decade of quantitative and qualitative research and practice experience in MCH and Latino health working with the Carolina Population Center at UNC-Chapel Hill, the Mexican National Institute of Public Health, Population Council and Research Triangle Institute. Her current research focuses on improving health care delivery for postpartum women and evaluating maternal and child health evidence-based programs in North Carolina. For the past five years, she has served as the PI of Evaluation for the Improving Community Outcomes for Maternal and Child Health (ICO4MCH) program.
