Health System Specialist – Strategic Planner VA Puget Sound Health Care System Renton, WA
In these interesting times of keeping the right and qualified people in our facilities any improvement made with regards to turnover can make a difference in keeping your staff engaged and physically present. If you think that everyone to your left and right feels the same way as you, you might be shocked at their real answers. What motivates you to be and stay actively engaged in the workplace is not the same across the board - so how can you help encourage this with your staff whether you are a supervisor or aspiring supervisor?
While there is no sure shot answer for every staff member, there is the common thread that keeps our staff with us - a sense of being connected and having a stake (ownership) in the operations of our work space - no matter the level. This is and can be reached via many different ways but it originates at the level of leader engagement. This includes your levels of communication, (both direct and in-direct), as well as the example that you are demonstrating for your staff. For some of us this session will serve as a refresher, for others it may be the first step in your journey as a leader - either way it will be a great tool to have in your leader tool box.
