Clinical Applications Specialist KA Imaging Waterloo, ON, Canada
In this talk, experts Dr. Karim S Karim and Jay Potipcoe review the clinical, operational and financial benefits of adopting Single Exposure Dual-Energy Subtraction (DES) X-ray. Through this presentation, attendees will understand dual-energy subtraction (DES) X-ray and the clinical benefits enabled by dual-energy in the early detection of small nodules identification, pneumonia, pneumothorax, coronary calcifications. The presenters will review the limitations of the old DES techniques and how a single-exposure detector can overcome these limitations. Attendees will also understand the operational and economic benefits that come from using the dual-energy technique, and learn more about current hospital implementations of single exposure dual-energy X-ray.
Learning Objectives:
You will learn to explain what dual-energy subtraction (DES) X-ray is, limitations of old DES techniques and how single-exposure DES can overcome these limitations
You will understand the clinical benefits enabled by dual-energy in the early detection of small nodules identification, pneumonia, pneumothorax, and coronary calcifications
You will learn to calculate the economic benefits that come from using the dual-energy technique
