There are many challenges for leadership at all levels in the radiology department to provide quality and cost-effective training for radiological staff members. These challenges can include budget constraints, scheduling conflicts and pressures, proper staffing levels, and keeping up with changing technology.
This session will discuss radiology leadership's role in providing a quality, efficient, and practical training program for staff members, keeping in mind the unique training needs for the different modalities and positions with a radiology department. Our discussion will include how to establish, develop, and cost-effectively maintain training programs.
The discussion will also include helping leaders understand the importance and benefits of having a training program in their department. For example, how training helps improve patient satisfaction, staff productivity, competence, employee retention, and increased department safety profiles.
We will explore distinct roles of responsibility for leadership and individual staff members. Additionally, how can staff competency, training impact, and outcomes be measured. Our session will provide instructional tips for improving staff performance evaluations and employee retention during the current pandemic.
We will conclude the session with a summary of how high-quality training programs can be cost-effective but result in positive outcomes that support improving patient care within the radiology department.
