Infection Prevention/Health Scientist

Dr. Abimbola Ogundimu is a certified Infection Preventionist/Health Scientist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP), Prevention and Response Branch. In this role, she provides consultation and technical assistance for infection prevention and control, develops guidelines, educational resources and quality improvement programs to promote infection prevention and surveillance activities in long-term care settings. She also serves as a subject matter expert for clinical inquiries related to infection control outbreaks in long-term care settings. She participates in state-based and national initiatives that support long-term care facilities in infection prevention activities and continues to raise awareness of the importance of including long-term care providers in strategies targeted at reducing healthcare-associated infections.
