Kathryn Keane is the Executive Director and Administrator of Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa where she oversees an extensive campus that includes an 80-bed skilled nursing facility, assisted living, a community gym, outpatient therapy and rehab, 19 rental units, education center, and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Lab.
Kathryn brings an entrepreneurial and community-centered mindset to the healthcare field after her earlier career spanned between communications, religious education, commercial and residential property ownership, and management. Her diverse skills and experience led her to tackle the CNA/CMA shortage in her rural region by building a 7-bed CNA lab and education center, starting the first CNA/CMA apprenticeship in Iowa. Kathryn has also initiated her organization’s addition of rental property specifically dedicated to workforce housing to assist with recruitment and retention.
Kathryn is constantly partnering with community members, including local high schools and community colleges to innovate solutions to workforce challenges in rural Iowa. This includes pursuing international immigration of nursing students and exploring efforts with the refugee resettlement program in her community.
Kathryn currently serves on the AHCA Independent Owners Committee and Workforce Committee.
