Mark Traylor is the President and CEO of Traylor Porter Healthcare in Opelika, AL where he owns and oversees management of 5 SNF’s, 1 ALF and 2 IL properties in Alabama. Mark has grown up in the industry as a fourth generation operator but chose to work as an investment broker for 9 years upon graduation from the University of Alabama in 1993. After returning to the long term care industry in 2002, Mark worked in the family business until leaving to purchase and manage SNF’s in Alabama and Texas in 2008.
Mark is one of the founders and a director of Simpra Advantage, Inc., an Alabama statewide based Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plan covering lives in over 100 of Alabama’s nursing facilities, and its sister company, Alabama Select Network, LLC, which contracts with the Alabama Medicaid Agency as Alabama’s single statewide primary care case management provider for the Medicaid long term care population in nursing facilities and certain home and community based waiver programs covering approximately 23,000 lives. He also is a founder and a director of Associated Care Ventures, Inc., which is the holding company for these entities.
He currently serves on the Board of Governors for the American Healthcare Association (2nd term), the Co-Chair of the the Independent Owners Council (AHCA), the Alabama Nursing Home Association (past chair 2018 and 2019) and Board Chair of Pharmacy Care Associates (LTC Pharmacy). Mark was also appointed by Governor Kay Ivey to serve on the Statewide Healthcare Coordinating Council for a 2 year term beginning 2022. He also serves on the Board of River Bank and Trust, Tri-Logic Pharma and MilanaPharm.
Mark graduated with a BA from the University of Alabama and did graduate work at the Leonard Davis School of Gerontology at the University of Southern California as well as the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
