Her first job out of college was in a skilled nursing facility, and it was there that April Diaz discovered a passion for serving senior residents and families—and for the long-term care profession in general. Her professional journey covers more than 26 years of nursing in senior care, and includes experience as a Director of Nursing, Nurse Consultant, VP of Clinical Services and Expert legal consultant.
April joined the Marquis team as a Nurse Consultant in 2004, and is currently the Vice President of Clinical Services. She works closely with Marquis’ 24 post-acute rehab, memory care and assisted living facilities, and is responsible for clinical system development and implementation, regulatory oversight and the creation of best practice models.
As with all providers nationally, Marquis has faced the many challenges of COVID outbreaks that have been both small in numbers to full facility outbreak impact and has navigated the complexities of clinical COVID management, regulatory oversight and federal mandates for Marquis facilities. She has additionally participated in a variety of local state and federal COVID task groups.
