Principal
Starling Center
Stacey Starling, PhD, principal and founder of the Starling Center, focuses on human and systems transformation in all facets of her life’s work. Stacey received her Ph.D. in the Humanities with a concentration in Transformative Learning & Change from the School of Consciousness and Transformation at the California Institute of Integral Studies. Her doctoral research focused on person-centered organization culture transformation in aging services. CIIS's distinctive signature is the development of an integral education that combines academic scholarship with spiritual transformation. For more than 30 years, Dr. Starling has carried forward this same tradition in her work with organization transformation and human development in the long-term care sector.
For the last 14 years, Stacey has served as key personnel in several funded projects that aim to transform the culture of aging in the long-term care continuum. Her body of work includes the design, development, and implementation of the Person-Centered Thinking Curriculum and the Core Dementia Care™ Project. These projects have included a robust curriculum, along with a master trainer and train-the-trainer component. The implementation of these federally funded projects was in partnership with the Michigan Aging and Adult Services Agency & Michigan Disability Rights Coalition, and The Health Care Association of MI, along with NADONA respectively.
