Shiela Johnson is the Vice President of Quality Assurance and Clinical Services for USA Healthcare – Alabama, serving as a consultant to seven long-term care facilities, a specialty care assisted living facility, and a geriatric/adult psychiatric hospital. Prior to her current role, Shiela served as USA Healthcare’s Director of Clinical & Education Services where she assisted USA’s seven long-term care facilities in implementing a Quality-of-Life improvement program with the goal of reducing falls and antipsychotic medications using computer software geared toward resident engagement. Over the previous five years, this program has been successful in part due to the iN2L software installed on computers and handheld devices, cell phones, various social media platforms, and compassionate caregivers that assist the residents in learning how to navigate the internet. Shiela continues to be a vital component in ensuring the residents stay connected to the world outside of their home in long-term care.
