Attorney
Hancock, Daniel & Johnson, PC
Kyle René is an Associate in Hancock, Daniel & Johnson’s Richmond office. He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and is licensed to practice law in California, Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
Kyle began his legal career within the healthcare industry, serving as in-house counsel to skilled nursing facilities and related healthcare providers. In his role as in-house counsel, Kyle worked alongside administrative and clinical staff, providing advice in matters involving compliance, conditions of participation, provider enrollment and licensure, and related matters to all levels of the organization, from clinical “floor” staff up to company owners and executives. The experience provided Kyle with unique opportunities to advocate on behalf of providers in multiple contexts, from assisting administrative staff to craft internal policies, to representing nursing homes in survey appeals before CMS’s Departmental Appeals Board.
As an attorney in Hancock Daniel’s Richmond office, Kyle has been able to use the experiences from his “former life” as in-house counsel to serve clients across the care spectrum, from advising post-acute and hospice providers in transactional matters to representing nursing homes in Informal Dispute Resolutions (IDRs) and investigative matters.
Beyond serving clients directly, Kyle also regularly speaks before long-term care trade associations and other groups on matters impacting nursing homes, assisted and independent living facilities, and hospice and rehabilitation providers, among others.
