State affiliates play a critical role in supporting member organizations in their quality improvement efforts. One of the ways in which they provide this support is through the promotion of the Quality Award program. The Quality Award program based on the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence is a rigorous three-level process that evaluates an organizations capability against nationally recognized standards for excellence, making it one of the most comprehensive and cost-effective performance assessments available to long term and post-acute care providers. This session will highlight practices that state affiliates can employ to gain recognition of this program and other incentive programs including effective promotion strategies, workship design, and other member supports. Resources available from AHCA/NCAL for both the state affiliates as well as members will also be discussed.
Learning Objectives:
Discuss the benefits of Quality Award workshops.
Identify resources the Quality Award program supports as derived from state affiliates in promoting the Quality Award program.
Identify best practices to increase member engagement in the Quality Award Program.
