We are in a disruptive time in which AHCA/NCAL members are working to address emerging issues in the long term care profession, including staffing to ensure required capability and capacity. Baldrige recognizes that successful organizations capitalize on the diverse backgrounds and characteristics, knowledge, skills, creativity, and motivation of people, and foster equity and inclusion for all people. The outcome can be improved patient/resident/family, staff, physician, and stakeholder engagement, as well as improved loyalty and brand image. Questions in the AHCA/NCAL Quality Criteria ask how you ensure fair treatment for your residents and workforce, how you ensure that your workforce represents the diversity in your hiring and patient communities, how you tailor benefits and policies to the diverse needs of your workforce, and how your leaders and your workforce performance management and development foster equity and inclusion. In this session, key criteria will be defined and how to use the criteria as a management tool will be discussed. Knowledge from insightful criteria questions and examples will be shared.
Learning Objectives:
Discuss how the Quality Award Framework can be used as a Management tool for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
