Management of Patella Luxation with Limb Alignment Osteotomies in Toy and Small Breed Dogs

Open to ACVS, ECVS, and ACVAA Diplomates and Residents

For surgeons familiar with orthopedic surgery using plates and screws, this laboratory addresses CORA based deformity correction to manage medial or lateral patellar luxation.

Laboratory topics include:

• Introduction to the principles of PTO (proximal tibia osteotomies) and DFO (distal femoral osteotomies) using the latest plate designs, including procedure experience during the dry lab
• Review of a new, innovative universal saw and reduction guide that offers 3 sizes, allowing the surgeon to adjust varus/valgus, procurvatum and torsion
• Demonstration of a unique locking mechanism and system for deformity corrections, case selection based on pre-operative planning from radiographs or CT-Scan and complications through clinical case examples

Dry lab stations are available for participants; deformity of plastic bones are made from real clinical CT-Scan cases.
