Dr. Vavilala is tenured Professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics at the University of Washington. She is expert in acute care management of TBI, particularly in pediatric TBI. She directs the Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center, which is one of nine CDC funded injury control research centers in the US. She has been continuously funded by NIH and CDC, combined for over 20 years. She has published over 400 peer reviewed publications.
