Elizabeth Addington, PhD is Assistant Professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Department of Medical Social Sciences and Osher Center for Integrative Health, and a licensed clinical psychologist in the Supportive Oncology program at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Addington’s research focuses on improving people's ability to manage chronic illness and stress, improve their physical health, and increase their quality of life through integrative approaches such as positive emotion regulation, mindfulness-based interventions, and yoga. She specializes in conducting stakeholder-engaged research to maximize our ability to meet the specific needs of various patient and caregiver populations and examining how mobile and web-based delivery can increase access to evidence-based interventions. In addition, Dr. Addington has been awarded grants that aim to identify the biobehavioral mechanisms that link psychosocial and physical health outcomes. She is the recipient of early career honors from the Society for Integrative Oncology, the Symposium on Yoga Research, and the International Society of Behavioral Medicine.
