Susan Magasi is an associate professor of occupational therapy at the University of Illinois Chicago. She an occupational therapist by training with a PhD in disability studies and post-doctoral training in health services and outcomes research from the Rehabilitation Institute Chicago and Northwestern University.
Dr. Magasi deeply committed to identification and reduction of healthcare and participation disparities among people with disabilities, including those living at the intersection of cancer and disability. She partner with the disability community to produce action-oriented research that supports the shared goal of health and participation equity for all people with disabilities. This research includes the development of mHealth application to empower people with disabilities by putting evidence-informed interventions in the hands of consumers.
Dr. Magasi is the co-chair of ACRM's Communications Committee.
