Joseph Shivers, MD is an Assistant Professor in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). He grew up in Salem, OH. His educational and training experiences include college at Harvard (2010), medical school at Columbia (2017), PM&R residency at the University of Colorado (2021), and the inaugural Value-Based Fellowship in Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine at UPMC (2022). His professional interests include caring for each patient based on their own specific diagnosis and goals, collaborating with a team of other clinicians to find the best answers, and continuously improving the quality of the work that we do.
