Mihir Joshi, MD FAAPMR is a dual board-certified physiatrist and interventional pain physician. He currently works at Riverside Healthcare, where he co-directs the interventional pain program within the multi-specialty Riverside Orthopedic and Spine Center.
Dr. Joshi completed his undergraduate and medical education at Rutgers University, where as an undergraduate he received departmental high honors and scholarships for his senior research thesis. In addition to his leadership roles in his medical school's student-run free healthcare clinic and PM&R interest group, he also helped found an elective called "Business in Medicine". This elective course for 3rd and 4th-year students introduced them to key concepts and players in healthcare finance including hospital leadership, payors, pharma and biotech, and private practice.
Upon graduating medical school, Dr. Joshi completed his internship at Northwell Health in Queens, NY where he was recognized by peers and faculty for excellence in patient care. He then completed his PM&R residency at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine program in Houston, TX. As a PM&R resident, Dr. Joshi continued his involvement in medical education and research while serving as an advocate for his peers. He was elected by his faculty and peers to serve as academic/research chief resident in his final year of residency; as chief resident he continued to advocate for improvements in patient safety and physician coverage for after-hours admissions, and led an overhaul of the program's quality improvement curriculum.
Dr. joshi completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in pain medicine at UT Health San Antonio, where he trained under nationally and internationally recognized faculty. After graduating from fellowship and a brief stint with a private practice in Raleigh, he joined Riverside Healthcare in 2022 to help build a new interventional pain division serving the south Chicago suburbs and north-central Illinois.
