Dr. Kalia specializes in interventional spine and cancer pain management with special expertise in advanced neuromodulation procedures.
He earned his medical degree from Govt. Medical College Indore, India and Master’s in Public Health from Western Kentucky University Bowling Green, KY. After his preliminary year in General Surgery at St. Joseph Mercy, Pontiac MI, he moved to Rochester to complete residencies in Preventive Medicine & Public Health; Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation; followed by an ACGME approved Pain Medicine fellowship at University of Rochester. He also completed additional FIPP (Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice) certification from World Institute of Pain and LEND (Leadership & Education in Neurodevelopmental Disorders) fellowship from University of Rochester.
Dr. Kalia is a member of numerous national/international professional societies and sits on various sub-committees.
He serves on the the Board of NYSIPP (New York Society of Interventional Pain Physicians); ASPN (American Society of Pain & Neuroscience) and is President-Elect of Monroe County Medical Society. As part of the faculty at national and international hands-on cadaveric workshops, he is actively involved in teaching young neuromodulators and interventional spine & pain physicians. He successfully started the Interventional Spine & Cancer Pain fellowship program at Rochester Regional Health System and is currently an examiner for the reputable FIPP certification course through World Institute of Pain.
Dr. Kalia has presented his work on cancer pain and advanced neuromodulation at multiple national and international conferences including publications in peer-reviewed journals. He served as an Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Clinical Medical Research & Health Care Delivery Journal and currently serves as Section Associate Editor for Pain Practice journal.
He currently serves as the founder and CEO of Center for Research and Innovation in Spine & Pain (CRISP) and Managing & Medical Director of Invision Spine & Pain, Invisionhealth in Rochester, NY.
