As the Medical Director of the Inpatient Rehabilitation at Denver Health Medical Center (1997-2003), Elmhurst Hospital Center (2003-2016), and NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn (2016- current) , I have over 25 years of experience in stroke and trauma rehabilitation. I participated the effort to unify rehabilitation outcome data collection among the 9 hospital based Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities within the NYC Health & Hospital corporation, the largest network of municipal rehabilitation departments in the country. I produced a digital course outlining recommended documentation standards for inpatient Rehabilitation physicians that served a reference for nationwide rehabilitation departments for the years it remained in publication. Initiated ICU early mobilization programs at several hospital systems, and spearheaded multiple TJC certified clinical programs in joint replacement and stroke rehabilitation. I have managed COVID 19 patients from acute care to outpatient, providing rehabilitation speciality service across the care continuum. I am the physiatry representative for NYU governed RECOVER grant, studing the impact of COVID infection on long term functional outcomes. I Participate on teh AAPM&R PASC collaborative and am the lead author of the AAPM&R Guidance statement reviewing the assessment and treatment recommendations for patients with cognitive symptoms following COVID 19 infection. Actively maintain 4 ABMS rehabilitation board certifications: PM&R, Spinal Cord Medicine, Pain Medicine, and Brain Injury Medicine.
