Dr. Van Dien is a board certified specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. He received his medical degree from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, and completed residency training at JFK-Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, where he served as an Academic Chief Resident. He completed further sub-specialty training in Sports Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Van Dien is one of the founding members of Center for Sports and Spine Medicine at JFK-Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, part of Hackensack Meridian Health. His clinical interests include musculoskeletal injuries, regenerative medicine, and interventional and diagnostic ultrasound. He believes in well-rounded, personalized plans of care that focus on healthy, active lifestyles and patient empowerment.
