Dr. Ivanhoe is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and in Brain Injury Medicine, did her clinical fellowship in Brain Injury and Stroke Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine at what is now TIRR Memorial Hermann. She is the director of the SPASM (Spasticity and Associated Syndromes of Movement) program at TIRR. Dr. Ivanhoe directed the Brain Injury and Stroke Program and was a professor in the Baylor College of Medicine until 2019. She is a clinical professor of PM&R in the McGovern School of Medicine v. University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Ivanhoe was medical director and Chief Medical Officer of Mentis NeuroRehabilitation until 2017. She has served as faculty in the US and abroad and her clinical experience has spanned the spectrum of developmental disabilities, neurosurgical ICUs, from acute rehabilitation to long term follow up in the community. Dr. Ivanhoe has served on the board of directors of the International Neurotoxin Association and their educational committees, and the board of Mentis Neuro Health until 2017. She is recognized by US News and World Report, Best Doctors, Best Doctors in Texas and has received awards from the Brain Injury Association of Texas, American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, Baylor College of Medicine, the service award from the CNS Council of AAPMR and the Distinguished Clinician award from AAPMR, Humanitarian Award by the Brain Injury Alliance of Texas and the Professional Contribution and Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Brain Injury Association of Texas, Physician of the Year 2020 by TIRR Memorial Hermann and awarded the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching award at UT. She was the 2021 recipient of the Sheldon Berrol Clinical Service Award of the Brain Injury Association-America for outstanding contributions to improving the quality of care, professional training, and/or education in the field of brain injury.
