Dr. Grant received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in Austin (B.A. in biological sciences with honors). He then obtained his medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine and received his residency training at Ohio State University, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has been in private practice for 37 years in Medford, Oregon and currently limits his practice to Electrodiagnostic Medical consultations.
Dr Grant is currently the Chairman of the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM) and is a Past President of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM). Dr. Grant is an Associate Professor in the Department of PM&R at the Ohio State University.
Dr. Grant has lectured extensively in the area of fraudulent and abusive EDX practices and how to identify and combat them. He is a consultant for the F.B.I. and the O.I.G. as well as multiple private medical insurers and state boards of medical examiners regarding EDX fraud and abuse. Grant is the founding Chairman of the EDX Laboratory Accreditation Committee and his EDX laboratory was the first accredited laboratory in Oregon. Within the AANEM, he is currently a member of the Finance, Nominating and EDX Lab Accreditation Committees and is the Advocacy Advisor. Dr Grant is currently on the Executive Committee, and is the Oregon State Liaison for the AANEM.
Dr Grant followed his father Arthur E. Grant (Past AAPM&R President and Krusen Award recipient) into the field of PM&R. Dr Grant has been married to Joan for 39 years and they have 6 children (Jessica, Collin, Austin, Keenan, Stewart and Weston). Dr Grant’s two oldest boys have recently joined his medical practice.
