Are you interested in knowing more about a sub-specialty focus on neuromuscular and/or electrodiagnostic medicine? Please join us for a highly interactive session with a group of PM&R trained physicians who are leaders in this sub-specialty from across North America. This session is intended for medical students, residents and early career physiatrists. You will learn more about different pathways available so you can excel in neuromuscular and/or electrodiagnostic medicine practice, the recent development of a formal neuromuscular medicine fellowship match, and how to leverage your foundation in physiatry vis-à-vis our colleagues in neurology. Short presentations will be given by our panel of experts and there will be an emphasis on audience engagement with live Q&A and small group networking.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to understand an approach to selecting a fellowship in neuromuscular medicine.
Participants will be able develop their own strategies to overcome barriers to a career in neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine.
Participants will be able to understand the need for more PM&R-trained specialists with certification in neuromuscular medicine.
