Session Description: This session will address the topic of implementing residency tracks within a residency program. Our residency program has implemented in the last 7 years a Medical Education Track, a Research Track, a Leadership Track and a Quality Improvement Track. Residents have the option to select a track for additional learning and experience in an area of interest they have for their career. This session will start with 3 lectures addressing how we structured each track and implemented the tracks. We will discuss structure, content, learning objectives for each track. We will present data on the outcomes for success of each track. We will also have a lecture by one of the first residents we had in our medical education track and his experience now as an attending medical educator. He will provide his perspective on what elements of the track were helpful in his career thusfar. The session will end with a Q&A section so that others in the community can share what they are doing at their own programs and ask questions about the residency track system.

Length of Session: I proposed a 90 minute session. 60 minutes of lectures, 15 min of small group break out discussion nd 15 min of Q&A and discussion.

Learning Objectives:

1. To understand the value of Specialty Track within a PM&R Residency Program
2. To highlight structure of the tracks, curriculum, and learning objectives for each of the 4 tracks
3. To discuss the outcomes of participants of the track in order to determine success of the programs.
4. To review the perspective of a graduate of the Residency Track Program to see how it has affected their experience as a junior faculty member in academic physiatry.
