This session will be an interactive case series presented by up to 4 spine interventionalists to address cases of suboptimal fluoroscopic imaging or needle placement encountered in practice in the lumbosacral spine. Safety during fluoroscopic-guided procedures is paramount and dependent on the accurate visualization of target structures, an understanding of C-arm manipulation, and efficient needle placement to minimize radiation exposure. For each case, participants will discuss approach, optimal and suboptimal imaging, and needle placement. The moderators will then confirm the correct approach and its considerations, review evidence-based recommendations for patient safety, and provide solutions to optimize fluoroscopic anatomy and target visualization as well as how to correct needle trajectory.
