Concussion management has evolved over that last few years and it has been challenging for practitioners to keep up with the ongoing evidence for the most effective treatments. Although most individuals recover from concussions without residual effects, there are other individuals who may have prolonged symptoms after their injury. The differences in how an individual recovers can be related to age, sex, mechanism of injury, and preexisting conditions. The goal of this session is to impart the current evidence on treatment guidelines for concussion and how to optimize recovery for those individuals who have prolonged symptoms.
