The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to evolve our practice and care for patients. The rapid expansion of telemedicine has allowed providers to continue caring for patients while minimizing risk of exposure or transmission of COVID-19.
We will review recent published evidence on telemedicine use in physiatry practices, with attention to cancer rehabilitation. A panel will highlight exemplar adopters of telemedicine in cancer rehabilitation practice in response to the pandemic. We will present survey data on best-use aspects of telemedicine in cancer rehabilitation, as well as findings on satisfaction and attitudes. Lastly, data from a multicenter research collaboration study examining real-world practice patterns and disparities in telemedicine, compared to in-person cancer rehabilitation care, will be reported.
