This lecture will describe the process of building a successful sports medicine service line across an academic and community based health care system. The importance of prioritizing both the academic and research mission in addition to the need to have a robust financial model and performance will be emphasized. The emphasis on balancing non-surgical, PM&R sports medicine growth as well as surgical growth is discussed.
