In her section (presenting third of the five faculty presenters), Dr. Tolchin will review competency-based disability content to include in medical school disability education efforts; introduce and describe the curricular review process (how to evaluate a medical school’s curriculum to identify opportunities for disability content); and enumerate strategies for aligning disability content with a range of medical school approaches to curriculum design. She will provide examples from her institution of successful use of curricular review to foster development of new disability education elements and engage her co-presenters in sharing successful examples from their own institutions (all presenters will include a discussion of challenges encountered in this work). Dr. Tolchin will use an interactive didactic approach, including polls, Q&A, and engagement of co-presenters in a panel-style discussion.
