This lecture will explore how physiatry can help large integrated systems conserve scarce post-acute care resources. This will look at bundled care as well as other types of care management options and how to negotiate within a healthcare system..

Learning Objectives:

Participants will understand the challenges of post acute care delivery in the setting of larger integrated systems
Participants will be able to distinguish some of eht competing perogatives in the design of efficient and meaningful post acute are plans, pasing the need for maintaining patients at home and also appropirately using resources
Participnats will be able to discuss the advantages of acute rehabiliation, nursing home level rehabiliation, home care and outpatient servicse in the delivery of post acute care settings.
