1 - Integrative Modalities for Supportive Care in Breast Cancer

Prehabilitation provides an opportunity for physiatry to play a role in supportive oncology by offering integrative techniques which can be useful to a patient undergoing treatment. Interventions such as acupuncture and education on alternative modalities to improve symptoms of chemotherapy such as medical cannabis can be utilized in these visits. By incorporating these interventions into rehabilitation visits, physiatrists can begin to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and supportive oncology in cancer centers.
